RETE & RUTE: Two new transmission projects awarded in Chile

Celeo has been awarded two new transmission projects in Chile (Individual Nº1 and Individual Nº6) within the Obras Nuevas tender organized by the National Electric Coordinator (CEN).

On September 28 2021, Celeo Redes Chile was awarded the “Obra Individual Nº 1” within the Obras Nuevas tender organized by the National Electric Coordinator (CEN for its acronym in Spanish) under Exempt Decree Nº. 185/2020 of the Ministry of Energy. The project consists of the installation of static compensation equipment for reactive power with a capacity of 200 MVAr in 220 kV. The connection can be made either at the Maipo substation or the Alto Jahuel substation. The total investment of the project amounts to 27.3 million dollars with a construction period of 30 months.

In the same tender, Celeo Redes Chile has also been awarded “Obra Individual Nº 6”. The project consists of the construction of a new substation called El Ruil, for the sectioning of the 1×66 kV Talca – La Palma and 1×66 kV Talca – San Clemente lines, with their respective line sections. Additionally, the project includes the installation of a 66/15 kV, 30 MVA transformer with On-Load Bypass Changer (CDBC), with their respective transformer panels at both voltage levels. The total investment of the project amounts to 14.2 million dollars with a construction period of 36 months.
