Diego de Almagro Transmisora de Energía is a project integrated into the national transmission system that involves a line connecting the Illapa and Cumbre substations (both in Atacama region). This concession was awarded in 2016, and the entire project started operations in 2019. The project provides greater transmission capacity in the Atacama region and evacuates electricity from renewable sources generated at several photovoltaic plants in the area.
