Alto Jahuel Transmisora de Energía operates and maintains the line that strengthens the Chilean electricity grid, enabling interconnection between the Alto Jahuel substations in Buin (Metropolitan region) and the Ancoa substation in Colbún (Maule region). This project contributes with an infrastructure of great importance to the electricity grid, as its entry into operation represented a transmission capacity equivalent to 40% of the maximum demand of the SIC (Sistema Interconectado Central – Central Interconnected System). This infrastructure is of significant importance as it provides the necessary capacity for the transmission of electricity generated in various hydropower plants in the southern region.
